Myharambee child safety standards

Child Safety Standards

Our commitment to protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

Myharambee (operated by Grain Rain Holding Ltd.) provides a technology platform that connects families and verified childcare providers. Because our services may involve children and vulnerable users, we treat child safety as a non-negotiable priority. This page sets out our publicly available standards regarding child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). It applies to our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

These standards are published for transparency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with app store policies. They do not replace our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy. Further safeguarding information is provided within the Myharambee mobile application where applicable.

1. Zero tolerance

We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to child sexual abuse and exploitation. Any content, conduct, or attempt to groom, sexualise, or harm minors through the Platform is strictly prohibited. We do not permit the creation, distribution, solicitation, or storage of CSAE material, nor any behaviour that facilitates such harm.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination, preservation of evidence, and referral to competent law enforcement and specialist agencies, without prior notice where safety or investigation so requires.

2. Age and eligibility

  • Adults only: Users who register for their own account must be at least 18 years of age and meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms of Service.
  • Children on the Platform: Information about children may only be provided by parents or legal guardians in the context of arranging legitimate childcare, in line with our policies and applicable law. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to maintain their own accounts or interact on the Platform without appropriate parental involvement, as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Verification and safeguarding for providers

We operate a verification-led model designed to reduce risk in childcare connections. Depending on user type and jurisdiction, this may include:

  • Identity verification (KYC) through approved processes (including, where applicable, third-party providers such as Yoti) before certain roles can become fully active on the Platform.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and related suitability checks for individuals offering childcare or related services, where required by our rules and applicable law.
  • Training and compliance requirements (e.g. mandatory courses) for caregivers, as set out in our Terms and in-app rules.

Verification reduces risk but does not replace parental judgment or legal obligations. Users remain responsible for their own safeguarding decisions when arranging care.

4. Detection, moderation, and community monitoring

We employ a combination of technical and human measures to identify and respond to harmful behaviour, including where appropriate:

  • Review of reported content and accounts
  • Use of automated tools (where deployed) to flag high-risk content or behaviour, subject to human review where applicable
  • Investigation of suspicious patterns in messaging, profiles, or community activity
  • Cooperation with trusted safety partners and industry best practices as we evolve our programme

We continuously work to improve these controls. No system is perfect; users should report concerns promptly using the channels below.

5. Reporting to authorities and cooperation with law enforcement

Where we become aware of content or behaviour that indicates CSAE or poses a serious risk to children, we will take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Immediate removal of offending content and restriction of associated accounts, where technically and legally permissible
  • Reporting to relevant authorities, including, where applicable in the United Kingdom, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and reports consistent with guidance from the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) for illegal online content
  • Full cooperation with law enforcement and regulatory bodies, including preservation and lawful disclosure of information subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (e.g. 999 in the UK) without delay, in addition to any report to us.

6. How users can report CSAE concerns

We encourage anyone who becomes aware of suspected CSAE, grooming, or sexual exploitation involving the Platform to report it immediately.

  • In-app: Use the reporting and safety tools provided in the Myharambee mobile application (e.g. report user, report content, or support channels as labelled in the current version of the app).
  • Email: hello@grainrainholdings.com — please use the subject line "CSAE / Child safety report" and include relevant details (user identifiers, screenshots where safe to provide, dates, and descriptions). Do not attach illegal imagery; follow instructions from authorities if you have encountered such material.
  • Privacy and data rights: privacy@myharambee.com
  • Phone: +44 7447 241949

We review safety reports as a priority. We may not be able to disclose the outcome of investigations to reporters where confidentiality or law enforcement involvement applies.

7. Training and accountability

Staff and contractors with access to safety workflows receive guidance on handling sensitive reports, escalating to law enforcement where appropriate, and respecting data protection obligations. We review these standards periodically and update them to reflect changes in law, platform features, and industry guidance.
